A Contest of Secret French Beaches

A Contest of Secret French Beaches

There is a secret buzz among the sun lovers of Europe, and all of them point to the best French beach. It’s like a mini-contest of sorts, and many people are actually discovering the secret, visiting the hidden beaches all around France and coming back home with a glint in their eyes, rose on their cheeks and lovely tans only the moderately warm French sun can give.

Want to be in on the secret?

First on the list is Saint-Jean de Luz, right at the heart of the Basque Country. Fill your senses with rich Basque architecture and the quaint little town filled with adorable French cafes and shops. The beach is fine and the shore wide to provide you ample space to lounge and catch the sun on your skin.

Also Villefranche sur Mer will give you a run for your money. Just a few minutes away from Nice, you can get into its almost exclusive sandy shores. The density of people here is much less packed and sunbathing is much more pleasant because of the gentle shades provided by the trees. The beach area holds only a few shops and cafes, a virtual virgin landscape. There is no contest, if exclusivity and quiet is your premium.

If you are into some culture as you bask in the sun, then the little fishing village of Sete will delight you. The village is filled with museums and historic buildings all beautiful and representative of the lush culture of the area. The beach is also just as fine and makes beautiful backdrops for pictures to take home and immortalize in memory.
